2014 1ls New Owner- Journal/build thread.

WOO HOO.
Put my deposit down on my '14 1ls in ashen gray tonight.
Thanks to the kid that smashed into and totalled my last ride, I went on the hunt for a new vehicle that was exciting and affordable. Snap forward two weeks and here I am laying in bed blogging away about a car I havent even set eyes on yet. Drove a summit white then dropped my deposit on the ashen gray. It arrives Friday! Reminds me of being a kid and waiting for christmas morning! I plan to do a stealth sinister look build, and will be ordering parts tomorrow, though im hesitant because the 14 has some subtle and major diferences from the 10 to 13 models and many aftermarket manufacturers are just haphazardly updating their fitment to say it fits 14 when there is a major difference in the oem part shape and the part clearly wont fit. Anyone run into this problem and order parts that dont fit yet?

Isnt the 14 v6 grille shape significantly different from the 13? How is it the Phantom grille kit somehow fits 10-14 models?
There are even companies advertising chrome 4 piece taillight trim rings that fit the 14...

Anyway, this will be my build/ownership journal, feel free to contribute!

-Jason

Congrats! Look forward to seeing how you customize the car. If you ever have a question about whether something fits, feel free to post a link or picture for the specific item on the forum and you should have an answer in no time.

Congratulations on your "future to be" '14 camaro! I love mine sooo much. I don't really have to worry about parts fitting, I just do minor things. And rims are universal, so I don't have to worry about those changing lol.

Ok folks, well I pick up the new whip in T-Minus 17 hours and 56 minutes til I drive off the lot in my brand new '14! I am beyond stoked, and there won't be much sleep tonight, just lots of googling and daydreaming.
First batch of parts are already ordered, just the basic essentials for now, nothing style related yet, waiting for more options to become available!!!

On their way are:
Flowmaster 817483 Axle-back System 409S - Dual Rear Exit
K&N 69-4523TP Performance Intake Kit
2010-2013 Chevrolet Camaro Weathertech Floor Liner (Full Set Black)
WeatherTech Custom Fit Cargo Liners for Chevrolet Camaro, Black

Fingers crossed, it all fits! The floor liners didn't appear to have changed from 13 to 14, so well see! Both k&n and Flowmaster website recommended those part nos for the 14.
Wondering if to get rid of the raspy-ness of the v6 I'll have to go get the factory resonator cut out and an H or x pipe welded in. Has anyone messed around with this exhaust on the v6?

Again... I feel like a kid on christmas eve!

Well it appears T-rex has a 2014 grille already out.
Seen here in black, this is definitely the 14 grille as the porportions on the grilles are entirely different from the '13.
At a whopping $540 price tag, it better wash itself and hand me beers in the driveway....
