Vortech vs Maggie

If you had to choose one based on power, reliability, maintanence, and driveability which would be the better investment?

Mag over the Vortech any day. The more piping you have the greater chance of something going amiss.

I am not a fan of the centrifugal S/C packages. Back in the day they were nice because you did not have to install a aftermarket hood. With the technology behind the roots/screw blowers today I would stick with a less complex design.

If I had my pick of the litter it would be: http://www.kennebell.net/supercharge...aro/Camaro.htm

Can't say as far as reliability of the Vortech but it does give a better tq curve and is easier on the drivetrain. This would also make the driveablity a tad better too, IMO.

Vortech all the way, only roots I would go with would be a Kenne Bell. But every sports car I've owned has a had a Vortech so I'm a little biased.

another vote for the Maggie setup. centris involve way too much under the hood plumbing. and just like someone said earlier, more plumbing means all the more that can go wrong.

the TVS 2300 sits on top of your engine and has been tried and trued for quite some time.

Depends on your definition of better. It's a much weaker torque curve down low and therefore might be a little easier on the drive train. And the driveability of the Maggie is like stock...so don't know what you mean by that.

I love the flat (BROAD) TQ Curves of the top mount superchargers. I have never owned a vortec S/C so I can't comment. I vote for a top mount only on my experience with them, however, I don't think you could go wrong with either choice!!

It depends on what you're doing with the car. For a street car (very limited track), the Magnacharger is hard to beat and their support is fantastic. If the car is going to see the track regularly, then buy the Procharger.

You can make your Maggie run just like a Vortech if the Maggie's low RPM pull bothers you. Just don't mash the go pedal so hard.
