Hello Everyone,

Just letting everyone know that our club is taking a break for September and October, which means there will be no meets till November. Everyone is just too busy to attend so it was decided at the last meet to take a hiatus.

However, November means cooler weather and we are planning on heading out to Reynolds, GA where they have a 1/4 mile track and spend a Friday night running our Camaro's against each other. It's a safe way to get your foot on the pedal and go FAST without getting a ticket.

Every Friday night they have:

Friday Night Tune & Test, "Operation Street Legal" Grudge Racing
$20 for Car and driver
$10 for Spectator / Crew member. Children under 12 are free.

I looked at their calendar and Friday the 12th of November looks like a good date, there is nothing scheduled on it (so far). I will be calling them soon to make sure we can use it in conjunction with another event should one come up.

** Rain date will be Friday the 20th.

*** To reserve the track would probably cost $$$ if we wanted it all to ourselves, and I can't afford to pay for it out of pocket on my own. So if anyone of our members out there are interested in getting the track to ourselves, you have to be willing to pay.

That sounds great! I hope to be there. Just so everyone knows, the track is very strict on the helmet requirement if you are faster than 13.99 seconds in the 1/4. Hopefully all SS models are faster than that.

Hello Members, I have some news for everyone. It seems as there is a lot going on towards the end of the year as far as get togethers for our 5th Gen Camaro's and if you have been reading the board, you have seen some of the invitations. Greg and I have been discussing this for a few weeks and have decided to cancel the November 12th meet at the Track in Reynolds and join up with the SGMP Meet November 19 - 20th at Valdosta, GA. Yes, the same location as Camaro5Fest was held in April.

I know some of you are probably disappointed, but I honestly feel that this will be a better event for us to attend. The information is below:

SOUTHEAST REGION - END OF YEAR BLOW-OUT

SGMP Valdosta, GA November 19-20, 2010

Resistration Fee - $20 per car: this covers the police escort and armed security for our cars for the two nights.

The Host Hotel:

Holiday Inn Valdosta Conference Center (same as C5Fest)

$82.99 per night - Group code is Camaro 5

For those on a tighter budget:
Days Inn or Super 8 (next door to host hotel)
Use same phone number above for $59.99 rate

Friday Night - We will start with some meetin, greetin, eatin, and streetin. Cruising - to coin the phrase from Tusk.
Police escorted cruise at 6:00pm with the same route as April's Fest - about 20 miles that will end at Austin's Restaurant for Dinner.

Saturday - SGMP gates open at 10:00am with time trials and grudge racing from 11:00am - 4:00pm. Tim at SGMP is setting up some special races just for us Camaro Folks with a trophy to the winners.

$25.00 to Race / $10 for Spectators

Then back to the Host Hotel for more Meetin, greetin, and deciding on a place for eatin.

Sunday: Meet & Greet until you depart for home.

The show is set for tomorrow...weather looks good, but wear a jacket

Lots of Camaro's are expected, along with a vintage 73 Camaro Funny Car. 60+ Camaro Die Cast from a vendor for sale and some nice door prizes....hope you can make it to McDonough for the show.
