2015 Hotchkis Cup, Atlanta Ga
I made another trip up to Atlanta for the Chevy Performance Nationals again this year. But instead of 1/4 mile drag racing in the 5th Gen class, I decided to return and try a run at the autoX event sponsored mainly by Hotchkis Suspension. We ran 12 timed runs for both Saturday and Sunday on 2 different courses. The average of the 24 runs determined your time for the winner of the Hotchkis Cup trophy. Being fast, consistent, and not "coning your runs" was the key. I did not set FTOD (fast time of day) overall but did manage to set FTOD on Saturday for the "Modern Muscle" class. There was some really fast Camaros and Corvettes out there this weekend and competition was tight. Casey was super fast in his Camaro and made for a nice tight race all weekend. Good job Casey. It was fun competing with you back and forth for fast times each round.

You had me worried for sure. I had to pick up almost a .40 of a second to catch the fast lap you just laid down. Your Camaro looked awesome all weekend tho. I had good front grip but struggled with rear grip all weekend. I am not used to these small courses and having to shift up and down to keep the rpms up in the old L99 was my biggest frustration. GM paddle shifters suck !!

Come on down to a SCCA Wiregrass event in Dothan one weekend with me. Sometimes I peg the rev limiter in second gear on the slalom there sometimes. Wide open concrete airfield with lots of speed and lots of grip. Makes you drive home with a big permagrin at the end of the day. Lol.
