Not sure if the OEM 19's would fit on a 1LE but I'm currently running the OEM 19's with 225/55r19 blizzak DM-V1's and they're fantastic. Deeper snow can be an issue but what do you expect this car isn't a jeep or truck. All I needed was a 5mm spacer on the fronts and they cleared the brakes.

Don't get all seasons. These cars need a specific winter tire/wheel set up if you expect to drive through snow.

I'd suggest narrower tires than what you can put on stock width rims because you'll get more dig and bite (along with a taller sidewall on 18's as opposed to 19's or 20's for improved ride quality over ruts), and a lot less float and slide.

18" ugly black steelies and Winterforce Studded Tires have been a huge success for me driving 70+ miles a day in New Hampshire. Bout the only thing that slows me up is other people and when the snows to deep that i'm plowing it. I'll definately agree on trying to fit some 18's over the 19's or 20's for overall handling in the ice and snow.

Would be cheaper but I don't think there are any 18's that would fit over the brakes. I just need to find a cheap set of SS 20's and slap some decent winter tires over them.

There are some 18's that fit over the brakes but you're better off using stock 20's or even the stock 19's. All you need for the 19's to fit up front are 5mm spacers.
