Yep. Dealer did my first one, it was on them but the advisor let me know next time would be about $110.00.
I told him there won't be a next time 'here'.

Paid about the same for it at Tires Plus. Had no idea it was going to be that expensive. They messed up and overfilled it, so I went back, got the oil change for free, got another one on the house, and they did an alignment for free too.

I'll take it back for the free oil change, but after that one, I'm getting some ramps and doing it myself.

Yep, the SS oil changes can be pricey. You can save some money if you look around and keep your eye on sales from Autozone, Napa, etc. as well as Wal-Mart usually has Mobil 1 for pretty cheap. I got lucky and was able to get 3 6qts (singles) cases of Mobil 1 from Costco for $30 a piece I believe.

Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

Are you saying the SS holds 9 quarts of oil? I'm not so sure of this.

15W40? I wouldn't use that.

2 gallong jugs @ walmart for $54 and a $14 filter = $68 and you can do it yourself.

You also have a quart of oil leftover.

I did mine the other day at a Mobile 1 place. $107.00 with tax. They even told me I still had 43% oil life left, so I really did not have to have it done. I am going to O.C. Md. this weekend, 5 hour trip each way, so I had it done.

It holds 8.4 quarts. So they may charge you for 9.. I know I have to BUY 9 quarts...

and 15w40.. You may want to look at my build journal. I am running an LSX.. not an LS3.. so with the forged pistons and increased bearing tolerances....
