Anything Special about 1st year 2010?

I was just wondering, is there anything special about the 2010 Camaro that people are getting now as opposed to the normal production run that will be out in actual 2010? I mean, will the 2009 model 2010 have anything over an actual 2010 in the way of value, collectors or anything in the early models that won't be available in the production runs? Also, is there anything that will identify an early 2010 (2009) as opposed to one that is built in 2010?

This is the "normal" production run of 2010 models. They will be designated at 2010's until the model year changeover in July 2010 for the 2011 models. The only difference between now and later is your sequential serial number....

The 2010 production run is the normal 2010 production run. Even though production started in 2009, it is a 2010 Camaro, period. Maybe an early VIN# might be worth more (not much I'd guess) than a later VIN# 20-30 years from now. But the answer to your question is there will not be 2 versions of the 2010. A 2010 is a 2010 even if they make it for 1 1/2 years.

The automotive world goes by the "julian" calander. Late Aug. to Sept. is the "new year" change over. Since 2010 models weren't shipped to actual customers till early spring, I think GM just called it a 2010 because it was close to the new julian year anyway?

Obessed is an under statement to say the least.... My car will start the build process this week just waiting for my dealer to call me in to finalize it. I can't wait to get it.

Every car maker (i know of) have their release (not all makes but a few) at the auto and is out the year before. So for most 2010 will be out 2009 and so on.

You dont have to be a car lover to know this. Thats why when you buy a car, one of the best time to get it is when the new ones come out and the dealers need to make room.

I think that's normal. By fall of 67 they would have been starting production of the '68. As for the '69 MY, there is an outlier. It was produced until what amounted as Nov '69 well into the average 1970 build cycle; the 1970 Camaro taking a bit longer than usual to work the kinks out of the radical body design change.

It's whatever year January they sell it in, they can sell it from Feb. 09 till Dec. 10 and call it a 2010, if they would have built them in Jan '09 they would have to be called 09's.

R6P is a badge of honor for real enthusiasts in my opinion. And you had to be one of the first to order or be lucky enough to get an order that somebody cancelled. It's not really worth anything but those of us that have it and know what it means thinks it's pretty cool.
