The challenger might not have as high of numbers, but man they hold a pretty steady pattern.

Agree and am very happy for the Challenger in staying steady with their sales.

Camaro spanks the stang again! By 2000 units at that! It's good to see healthy competition though.

The release of the ZL1 will increase the gap further.

challenger is a lower volume car right? Is chrysler satisfied with those sales? I know a lot of it depends on how much money they make on the car because i remember the ceo of Ford says that they don't plan on selling more fusions than camrys but prefer to make more money on each vehicle and have better options and what not

I don't think the margins are too different between the Camaro and the Challenger. Material cost is going to be about the same for each, as will labour. Chrysler might be able to amortize the platform costs a bit better, but GM can spread the cost of more generic components that aren't specific to any platform (such as engines). Then there are incentives. I know that GM hasn't been offering very much on the Camaro, but I have no idea what its been like for the Dodge

In the end, I'd guess that its ends up more or less as a wash when you go model to model between the two. However, since GM sells twice as many Camaros ... they'll be making roughly twice the money off the total annual sales.

I think we all know how many models of Camaros there are...but how many different models does Challenger and Mustang have of theirs?? Just curious...

If Chevy offers more, maybe that's why there's more cars sold...dunno...

I know i over heard somewhere that Chrysler doesn't produce that many each month because they know that they won't be able to sell more than they currently produce. It's not a knock towards the Challenger, they are just playing it safe and quite frankly it works well. Theyve been consistent with 3,000 units per month for the past how many years. What's the old saying? "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." Seems fitting with the Camaro and Challenger brotherhoods in my opinion.
