Hibernation time. At least you had some nice weather to drive it in. Mine will be arriving in the middle of winter. :(

Mine has been away for a week now since overnight temps are dropping below 30F on a regular basis. I thought about the flat-stoppers but read "modern" tires don't have the problems old tires did. So, I added a few psi and parked on 1" insulation foam. I had read the foam will conform to the tires to help against flatspotting. It's definately softer than concrete but the tires don't appear to have sunk into the foam.
If they're NFG come spring, I guess I'll have an excuse to replace them with something I can use on wet or cold streets

From 1993 to 2005, I lived in Gainesville and Clermont, GA. I worked in Dahlonega,GA. In 2005 we moved to Brunswick, GA and I missed my mountain roads, but I do not miss the fact that it gets colder there than here, by a bunch. I will not have to put the 1LE away, and I am very glad for that. Did you buy your car at Hardy Chevrolet?

Is this being done for only the 1LEs? Im worried that I live in PA and only have this car to drive unless it snows really bad where i'd take my wife's truck. I am putting Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires on in a week or so to hopefully have a little better control this winter.....

Stopped by Summit Racing on the way back from the dealership today and picked up a set of flatstoppers. Cheaper then on RaceRamps' website and have a $25 rebate to turn in.

I know we focus on 1le's around here but people really shouldn't be surprised these tires aren't meant for cold weather. Most summer tires come with similar type warnings. It's really not a 1le thing as it is a summer tire thing
