One block shine. I fixed a car like that once. I have never seen another car with that kind of clear coat again since. The car looked like it was dipped in glass. There's not a drop of orange peel on this puppy:

The company that owned the car came over and asked me if I had some touch up paint. I was like, "FOR WHAT???" I had seen the cars that they had at their booth and did NOT want to see them screw up any of them with touch up paint. They showed me the damage and I grabbed some stuff and hooked them up. They were major grateful and hooked me up with all kind of gear.

AJ,as always that was a great job on that fender. I think I saw in one of your videos you had a extension from the PC hub to the pad. It just screwed in and was about 2 inches. When I use a small pad its hard to see the work. I think that would help. Ive looked but dont see them on a few sites. Where can I get it? thanks Walt

You've lost me Walt. Are you talking about using a 4" pad?

Yes. What I thought I saw you use was a spacer that screwed on the spindle where the pad would go. It had threads on the end where the pad goes. It just moves the pad a little farther from the machine. I think it would make it eaiser to see your work when using a small pad. It might not have been you. Ive watched a bunch of videos. If what im describing dosnt sound right thats fine .Ill keep looking around but thanks.

that sounds like a spacer on a flex, spacers don't really exist on the PC or any DA's as they would cause so much wear and tear on the internal bearings.

Okay, it sounds like you are talking about a particular back plate that I have for the 4" pads. It did not consist of a spacer, it is the way the back plate was designed. I think that I got it at a Mirror Glaze (Meguiar's) shop. Here's another one that I have, but the one you saw just has a longer shaft on the back plate itself (the blue section is longer). Is that what you are looking for?

By the way, Meguiar's also has this out now. It's a back plate combination that changes a drill into a dual-action polisher. MUCH safer than using a drill as a rotary with a 4" pad.

It's just one of the many 4" back plates that I have. I have all kinds of back plates for the PC in different sizes.

Thats a rotary to da adapter which is available at most vendors. It allows a plate designed for rotary use to be attached to a da such as a PC, Megs or Griots.
Buff & Shine DA Backing Plate Adapter

)

Rotary/DA Backing Adapter. Converts from 5/8" rotary backing plate thread to 5/16" DA thread.
