What? No Price Protection on 2010's?

A dealer told me no price protection on 2010 Camaros.

Is this accurate?

Order was placed 6/9/09 under current pricing.

I don't want to get hit with price hikes, when I have ordered under current pricing structure.

There is no price protection unless you were an R6P order... and even then, it's not reliable. When I placed my order in April it was "You will pay what ever the MSRP is when it arrives".

This is not true, my understanding is that as long as your order is "SRE- SOLD", you are price protected.

SRE-Sold typically equates to price protection, but in the case of the Camaro I was told from a reliable dealer that I trust that it does not.

Can another dealer online here verify/advise?

Yeah it's true, there's no "lock in pricing" on the camaro.. Sounds like a GM thing to me if they think they can sell it for more and still get orders i believe they will.. and might possibly be something we'll be seeing here soon...

That's what I'm afraid of too.

If MSRP bumps, I may reconsider my order...not.

Nope. Whatever MSRP is when your car arrives is what you'll pay.

Does anyone honestly think they will jack MSRP?

Anything's possible, but so far I haven't seen any market signs to warrant a price hike.

Hmm, there are numerous people here who have gotten price protection from SRE orders.

BTW: my dealer would get f'ed if gm doesn't price protect, b/c i have a signed sales agreement with retail/adjusted sales price/doc fee/license fee/sales subtotal/taxes/down payment/ and total due. Signed by the finance manager.

This is for the R6P increase, but the same policy would apply to us. B/c we ordered prior to a price increase. And if you have SRE then you qualify.

The only source that matters to me....My dealer. His exact words were (after signing an agreement I would not pay more than MSRP) "This is your final price unless MSRP goes up before your car arrives".
