OPINIONS OF THE GM BORLA EXHAUST
So I am wondering what people think of the GM borla exhaust that can be ordered through GM performance parts. Is this kit as good as some of the aftermarket kits? Are there better kits to buy?
this is the kit im refering to Exhaust System by GM (w/ Tips) Part Number: 92206990 Your Price $950.00 With Installation $1,049.00 Performance Exhaust Upgrade Package w/ Round Exhaust Tips (For use on models w/o ground effects) Upgrade the look and sound of your Camaro's exhaust system with one of our tuned, emissions-legal bolt-on exhaust kits. They deliver a great performance sound and reduced restriction, which promotes increased power - especially when combined with other performance parts. |

If anybody pays that price they should be shot, thats all I know. It can be found cheaper than the GM advertised price but its still higher than the borla brand system which is identical except one has bowtie tips one has borla tips. I could see the hardcore enthusiest wanting bowtie tips and paying extra but the borla setup shipped to my door for $600 bucks can't be beat. With all that out of the way Borla is one of the niceest brands out there period and they have a great sound.

my parts dept says i can have it for 800.00. I wouldnt pay to have them put it on ill do that myself. so other than the bowties the borla system is exactly the same for 600.00? this is a fact? do you have a link?

I do not have a link but it has been discussed and proven on here many times. There have been actual photos that you can compare side by side and the size shape everything is exactly the same. I'm sure the sound is the same as well. $800 would be a good price installed but if your gonna do it yourself i would get the borlas. http://www.lmperformance.com/53588/119.html
Best price I've seen I ordered form a board member zzcamaro, he got the price close for me but it was a little more thna that link, but I would rather him make a buck than dealer or a company. Got my headers and borlas from him. I've wasted money too many times over my life and anytime I buy something important like this now I do all the research i can. |

Click the PDF in this link, it shows how much the exhaust costs the dealers. And all the other goodies for that matter. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20486

I have GMPP (AXLE BACK) no tips part number was different w/ GFX.... so I'm looking for some nice tips, although you can't see much..... sounds a little deeper on start up and idle.... best sound is when you're on the gas pretty hard... completed cost around $650 Will probably have to do something further up, headers, etc... if I want more sound.... on a side note the factory "suitcases" were very heavy, one was full of water.... not draining correctly, other one seemed ok

I have the street version.
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=92206992 You are paying the extra "VIG" not to have a warranty issue. People can quote the MOSS-MAG act all day long however, I for one don't want to deal with it if my car is laid up in the shop for anything. -bobby
