This will be after the 2011 Z28 beats the Shelby GT500 in its first year back in horsepower number.
Figured I would repost the original opinion/question. As far as power, I would be happier to see a 500-550 hp Z28 lose 200lbs than a ~600 hp one gain 200lbs. A 600 hp one that loses 200 lbs would be awesome, but I don't expect that will ever happen.

Sorry about that, that's why I said it with a question ??? $80k new. Good to know though. The gt500 is at $46,3XX new and the Z06 is at $73,9XX, say $74k new. That is a $27-28k price difference, lol, which isn't far off from the $30k I stated earlier.

Don't forget to include destination and the gas-guzzler tax to the Shelby...Chevy.com includes destination in their prices, I believe.

Chevy does not include destination in their prices. It is an extra $950 for destination charges added on top of the $73,9XX, go price one up and you will see. The $73,9XX is also just the base Z06, I never knew there was 3 different models of Z06. Te next model is $77k. Only one model of the gt500 with 3-4 different options.
