Nope. All 69 Z/28s had 3927186 heads on them, which were a straight plug. In fact, I know of NO factory applications of angle plug heads on anything, including Corvettes. GM did make a 492 casting small block head with angled plugs, but they were sold only over the counter.

I don't think anyone out there knows for sure which cars had black and which silver, regardless of what the paperwork says. What everyone says to be true is not the case with my car. Originally it had a black grill. It is a Non RS Z/28, and was a lemans blue/white stripes. When the driver hit a snow back and cracked the grill in 1970 it was replaced at the dealership with a silver grill. GO figure!

I have seen that the Argent Silver grill is what came with the Z28 package from a lot of different sources! My uncle got his Z28 in '69 far a graduation gift. He bent in the front bumper and cracked his grill in 1970. He bought a new grill from the dealership! The grill came black and had to be painted silver. I speculate that the dealership was putting the car to OEM specs, no other Camaro's got the silver grill that I am aware of, but strange things did happen in the 60's!

Original production line standard grilles for '69 were all silver, except for SS cars, and even some of the darker exterior colors of those got a silver grille. The grilles were molded in a light colored plastic and sprayed silver from new. The over the counter grilles were molded in black plastic, and most dealers or bodyshops never bothered to paint them silver when doing repairs, so by the mid 70's many Z/28s and non-SS cars had black grilles. Also, when the cars started being restored in the 80's, the "NOS GM" grilles everyone was using were the black molded ones, and most were installed without ever being painted the correct silver. I don't mind seeing a black grille in a non-SS Camaro as much as seeing the entire grille assembly installed without the outer portion being painted body color. I'm shocked at how many '69s you see "restored" this way.

AS much as I love the 5th Gen Camaro, I would trade it for a 69 Camaro any day. Just a beautiful look and sound. Surely don't make them like that anymore.

If it were a 67 Z/28 RS, I'd trade my left leg for it.

It was at the time. But I'm sure that it's been sold.

No on the angle plug heads. The valve covers are on backwards. Rear stripes are wrong. Let’s see a pic of the trim tag? Did you buy it or are you looking to buy.

The owner saw my ZL1 and stopped to see if I was interested in purchasing his 69 Z/28. He wanted $60,000 so I passed. This was 5 years ago I don’t know if he still owns the car?
