First trip to the strip

Like the title says, I'm making my first trip to the drag strip tomorrow for an open test and tune session. 2013 ZL1 A6 just some basic mods, LT's, RotoFab and a canned tune.

What are some realistic expectations and goal for my first trip. I'm not expecting or even going to try to cut a good light. Would rather focus on learning how to launch the car smoothly. What is better, mode 5 or just turn off traction control? What is a realistic ET and MPH? Anything else I should focus on?

Traction control off.

Don't worry about cutting a good light unless you are racing. If you're just out there for fun then focus on having fun.

Realistic times will probably be in the mid-high 12's due to summer time heat. Expect to spin on the launch without drag radials.

Wear long pants and bring a helmet. Tracks are serious about that stuff these days.

It's a blast though. Enjoy the adrenaline rush!

Hey man. 1st thing is try to relax when you get to the line. I was was super hyped up my 1st pass. My bone stock 2010 ss was around 14.6 , 14.2 , 14.0, then 13.6 at night when it cooled off. You should be easily beating those times but you will have a harder time hooking up all that power to the track. Best thing to do is let her cool off in the lanes waiting to run again with your hood up. Have fun make new friends and try not to get addicted( lol good luck) I ran it with stablitrek on 1st run . Track mode every other time
