Flat black roof, hood and trunk - anyone done it?

My 2011 is gloss black in color. I currently have a problem of rock chips creating bubbles in the paint in three or so spots just above the windshield on the roof. I was told that the best way to remove the bubbles would require repainting of the whole roof as the spot repairs would show. I was thinking of going with some flat black stripes on the hood, trunk and roof however the stripes would not cover all the bubble areas and also would not help with future rock chips/bubbles. I also have a razzi body kit that needs to be painted and installed so i was thinking of painting the hood, roof and trunk lid flat black and do the same for the body kit. I would then put a strip of 3M clear plastic along the top front of the roofline to help prevent future chips

anyone out there with the whole rood, trunk and hood done in flat black or any thoughts on my idea?

I don't know what it will look like. But flat black vinyl is waaay cheaper than getting it painted. Plus if you don't like it, you can rip it off!

thanks guys. I will look into the vinyl and the plastidip options. first I have to fix the paint bubbles and chips in the hood as if i go with either the dip or the vinyl the chips will show and the bubbles eventually will create rust issues. how many cans did it take for your plastidip mckinney?
any links on where to get the vinyl graphicsgod? we do not have a lot of providers here in Atlantic Canada and the ones we do have charge an arm and a leg

Don't do dip, no offense to the guy that has it, but I PlastiDip ALOT of peoples trim and random parts on vehicles, and for large parts, Vinyl is key.

Plasti Dip panel lines are really hard to avoid, just because how the product is made.

About 8 cans

No offense taken... Dip is only for a short term.
