Brembo brakes(roller skates)

I have the Brembo brakes/rotors aftermarket( didn't come on my 2010 SS. Did research on here on cutting the roller skates off the front pads, so spare will fit . Found that some have done. One said you need to put weights on caliper if you cut skates off. See some replacements come with out skates, Will it work without weights? Do you cut flush with the base roller bade mount?

Just buy the replacement AC Delco pads. I've been running them for years. I get a little squeak, but no big deal. The weights are there to reduce vibration that results in the squeak. $40 or so at any parts store.

Would just as soon cut the roller blades of if they would be the same as replacements, being the Brembo's on there now are like new.

Time is money. Cheaper in the longer run to get the replacement pads. And if you ever want to put the stock pads back in you can.

If they have skates on them they either came on the car when it was bought or someone replaced them with OEM pads. I have heard of some people have just cut them off. But I just replaced mine with Hawk performance ceramic pads. No stopping at over a hundred MPH on an road cource track no vibration no squeaks.

Just ordered a new set of pads without skates, keeping the ones with the skates. The Brembo's are the factory Brembo replacement, not the GM Brembo calipers/rotors that would of came with the car.

Seeing the pictures of the Brembo's that came on the Camaro, these appear to be replacements kits made by Brembo, Black caliper/ red lettering. I'm sure there the same as what came on the SS from factory

Actually I just purchased a set of carbon fiber/ceramic pads and steel rotors as part of the Z23 Powerstop kit from Amazon (CarID had recommended them, but Amazon beat their price). These pads also have the roller skate weights. One of the weights is loose, and I'm concerned about a rattle or possibly shearing off during a hard brake. But just for the record, aftermarket has roller skates too.

Are the AC Delco pads you used give of much dust like the stock pads that came with the car do.Also are the AC semi metallic or ceramic.
