New Race Star Recluse drag setup

Finally getting into a proper drag setup. I would have loved to get a set of Welds but I'm too poor and impatient. So I decided on these new Recluse wheels from Race Star. They are direct drilled and use regular conical lugs, so no messing with the old style shank lugs. I went with 17x4.5 front, and 17x10.5 rear. They seem to clear everything including the SS brembos. The fronts have a ton of clearance(supposed to clear ZL1 calipers) but the rears are very tight. Looks like 0.10" or 2.5mm between the caliper and the barrel of the wheel. I think that should be enough though. The fronts weigh 19lbs and the rears weigh 24lbs, not the lightest but not bad. They seem to be about 2lbs heavier than the original race stars size for size.

I ordered them from Pro stock John who was great, had no problem answering all my questions and gave me a really good price. Shipping was very fast. I would definitely order from him again.

Now i need some tires... I think I'm going to go with the M&H 325/45R17 drag radial for the rear, and a 28" radial skinnys for the front.

The tires aren't mine, found the pic off the forum. But these are the sizes I'm thinking of going with.

They are, but the 17x10.5 in black was out of stock until mid June. That's why I went with chrome. It's not really chrome though it's a powder coat process that looks exactly like chrome. Both weigh the same.

I have the 10.5" rears in black with ET Street Rs 305/45/18. I decided to go with the 8.5s with Pirelli P Zero Rossos 255/55/ZR18 in the front. I am still waiting on the front to ship due to back order. Love the looks and i believe they are black chrome not powdercoat. The rears weighed 5.5# each lighter than the stock wheels and tires.

It's called PVD. I didn't know anything about it until I looked it up. Here's what Google says:

"PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) coating is an alternative to the standard chrome plating method used to coat aluminum vehicle rims. PVD is a layering method, which sandwiches a metal alloy in between a base and top coat of powder coating."

It's pretty cool, but it's not near as durable as chrome. It scratches like a clear coat. My '17 F-150 has the same finish on its wheels. I have to be careful wiping them with towels or it'll put little scratches in them.

Here what it says on the wheels:
