Quick question about timing chain

I have an early 2010. When the timing chain does fail, will the dealership install a newly designed chain that won't fail again like the 2011's ?

What if I go to a private shop, is there something I need to make sure they do, to ensure I have a new design ?

Surely we don't just slap on the same part, and wait for it to happen again ?

Is only the chain replaced ? Or another part as well ?

Is there a certain part number to specifically get if I have an Indy shop do it ?

I did a search and could not find a definitive answer to this..

Those who had there chain replaced, it hasn't broke a second time correct ?

i had a guy I know put mine on. It took him a few days. I purchased this
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ie=UTF8&psc=1#

He said there was one thing in the engine that this didnt have in the kit so he reused it. I wish I could recall what THAT was...but so far it has been several thousand miles and all is well. I had the timing chain codes being thrown for over a year before I got it done. Car feels like it has a supercharger on it now...literally. That is the subjective difference in power between bad chains and new ones. On certain uphill stretches of highway the car was downshifting to third to maintain 60mph..now it stays in 6th with no problems.

My understanding is that the kit above uses the newer chain design, and is stronger (in theory)

Thanks man, that's what I was hoping to hear, that there is a "new design" of some sort to replace the old one with..

I purchased a 15 piece kit from rockauto and it came with the chains, gears, actuators, etc. The chains look identical. Do not know for certain, I believe that I had read it was different metallurgy in the steel chains. What I did buy in addition was the crank seal.

Thanks , I am going to keep that in mind if/when mine goes.

Did you go to an indy shop, do it yourself, or dealer ?

My car just started downshifting to 5th on large hills but it always occasionally did this.
Hope it is nothing, chains stretched at 30k is a tragedy.
