A large dog in a 2 door car isn't something you can protect against. You'd need to cover every single surface with something fairly heavy and water(drool) resistant. They do sell dog type seat covers but that does nothing for the plastic that he'll scratch the crap out of just by moving around. I've got 2 big dogs and I don't let them anywhere near the car. They'd scratch the doors just because they're excited about getting in and going somewhere. They can abuse the SUV or corolla.

That's why I own a Jeep. No dogs allowed in my Camaro.

Go to a fabric store and buy some padded-back vinyl...enough to cover your seats, dash, etc. Basically anywhere you think Fido will scratch, drool, throw-up on, get dirt/mud on. The vinyl will protect from Fido's passive assaults, and the padded back of the vinyl will keep your leather and dash damage free (relatively speaking...)

FIRST choice would be to not let Fido ride, but if that's not a choice, then go to the fabric store.

Old bed sheets over the passenger seat and rear seats will minimize the stray hair in the fabric. If Fido wants to climb into the back, tell him no, he needs to stay in the front.

Wow thats tough. I have 4 dogs - one of which is a boxer. Luckily my hubby has a work vehicle that we can use to take the dogs to vet, etc. Now if it were life or death? Not a 2nd thought needed. I would use the camaro for sure. but otherwise? I'm thinking not a chance.

In your case, I would probably add a front seat cover but not worry much else about dog hair (Like I said, I have 4 of them so I know how to vacuum it out.) If you are a dog trainer, or "on your way" to being one, you should be at a point where you can train your dog to behave in the car with minimal - or none at all - damage.

Or buy a $2000 beater. Problem solved. :-)

I have a 5yr old German shepherd 100 lbs. I put a bed sheet on the rear seats and put a towel on rear upright seats I fold the seat down fold the towel and put it back up to hold the towel in place. She then sits in the back and loves the ride. However with these dogs fur is going to be everywhere like ur house

Haha okay so since I am becoming a trainer
Know my dog is well trained and has been in the car before and doesn't scratch or move around much in the car at all..the most he moves is adjusting the way he's Restin his head..jua the fur and all tht is an issue.
