Summit?

I ordered about 30 parts on Monday because I'm rebuilding my engine and fixing a couple of things that you need to fix on a car with 250,000 miles on it. I received the first of four main bearings today and when I opened the package from summit, I could hear them rattling around in the box. They were not wrapped in paper, it was just both halves of the bearing rattling around in the box. This is the first time I've ever purchased anything from them and this is what I got. How could you let this go out the door? I seriously doubt I'm the first person they've shipped these to. The bearings that came off my crankshaft after 250,000 mi looked brand new compared to this. Not a good look.

Definitely unacceptable. I would contact them ASAP and voice your concern. Sometimes Summit acts as the "middleman" and the parts come directly from the manufacturer. I've spent a s#!t load of money with them and I always had good luck with thier customer service.

Same experience here. Call them you'll talk to a human that speaks English and they will resolve the issue.

As stated above. I have spent quite a lot of money with them and never an issue. Call them and they will make it right!! Their customer service is top notch when ever I had to call them. Good luck.

Probably a return that was put back into stock without being checked. It happens.

Never had a problem with Summit. As someone stated, possibly a returned item. Probably to have been wrapped in waxed paper.

That’s not cool at all I’m actually surprised it was sent out like that what were they thinking. I’ve purchased lots of items over the years from summit and still do to this day with no problems or complaints. But like stated up above they are the middle man sometimes. I bet if you contact them they will make it right.

seems like nowadays, nobody bothers to check what it is they are sending out. it's in the box, pack it up and send it. deal with the issue if there is one.

I live right down the road from their Tallmadge warehouse and have never had any quality issues with them. However, I think someone hit the nail on the head that they don't stock the OEM stuff and they just act as a middleman. I'm willing to bet if you contact them they will help you get it taken care of.
