Weighed the car today.
Considering I added a/c back to the car for the hot GA summer, can't say I'm not satisfied. Car has a rollbar, deep TCI pan and metal hi-ram intake all adding weight, too. Some records going to be broken once it cools off. Roughly half tank of E85 in the car.
No, I'm not going to list out the reduction (it would take too long anyway). Yes, the car still has a full interior, stereo, and air conditioning. |

No, I ended up having family come into town so I spent the weekend doing the little league softball thing. Without me, of course. I'm 210-250 depending on how much I ate that month

Yeah, car would certainly go faster with a jockey, but they'd have to be 6' to see over the hood with the seat mounted the way it is, haha

Great job, is that what, 400 lbs of out of the car even with your roll bar in the car?

400+... probably around 500 out and some little bits added back in. Roll bar adds like 35, the deep trans pan added 10 + 2 qts of fluid, the vac pump setup is around 15, the hi-ram is 15 more then my fast was.
Not sure how the 4L80 looks vs the original tranny, but im pretty sure its at least 50 heavier then a t400 with the multi disk lockup |

There isn't much behind the dash other then the airbag and onstar crap, unless you like messing with wire harnesses. Maybe 20 pounds total of easy stuff, the rest of the weight is in the monstrous steel frame, and tbh you have to remove the entire wire bundle and dash to do anything with it.
Eventually I'd like to ditch every single wire, and just run a standalone engine harness and a racepak in a gutted dash with a new frame. Probably save 150+ pounds, no lie. There is a SHIT TON of harness back there. Imagine I'll get that done when I convert the 6 to an 8 point and run the bars through the firewall, since it all will have to come out anyway. Maybe in a year or two, I do have a long term plan for the car, but I'm a green collar enlisted man... so it's steady as she goes since my wallet is small. Fortunately I can do 99% of my own work. |

Mine weighed 3950 with a full tank of gas no HUD, BUC or Sun Roof.
500lbs sounds about right.

Eat all you want!! You're car will have double the rwhp the 429's does. It's easier to buy more rwhp than go on a diet. |
