What should I do next

Hey guys I'm looking to get some more power out my car but I feel like I hit the wall of doing all the cheap stuff exhaust headers intake cam gears and tuned got drag radials upgraded axles and trailing arms so now I'm stuck as to what I can do without breaking the bank. I'm getting married in the next few months and shouldn't be buying toys but oh well. I was thinking heads and maybe a 100 shot down the road possibly a e85 tune but I'm not that familiar with motor work so don't really know what my best bang for my buck is because everyone I talk to tell me to strap a supercharger on it and be done well I don't have a spare $8,000 or probably more right now lol, thanks in advance guys

Look into the lsa conversions, cheaper and can make solid power

Personally, I'd recommend firming up the suspension if you haven't already. There is a lot to be gained from suring things up. It will even help you put the power you already have down better.

The heads aren't a bad idea but you are going to spend BIG money to get gains that aren't justifying the expense IMO....

That same $2,000 or so could maybe be spent better elsewhere? What do you have in mind for the car long term?

All the best,

Jared Royce

i hear different things about the gains of heads some say 10hp some say 40hp i would of guessed 25 to 40ish but i have thought of doing some suspension work but always end up going for power thinking i dont know how much the suspension will help

Have you upgraded your clutch yet? I'd imagine your nearing the limits of a stock clutch, could be a good idea to beef up supporting mods

thanks! wish i would of went this route from the start but from what i read and correct me if im wrong by the time they add cai fuel pump and retune there back in that $7,000 or more range and ill most likely need a cam change. its not that im trying to cheap out or cut corners if it was up to me id throw 20 grand in it if i could

Doing heads would only gain you what is to be given by your cam and the numbers you post are low for a cammed car therefore I believe a better cam may serve you better.( unless that dyno sucks).

I had a stock 376 cube ls3 with CAI , headers/ HFCs, TSP 235/239 cam for 491 hp and 448 trq, tuned on a dyno right, anyway I have electric power steering and dual mode.... but this is from a Mustang stingy dyno.... I would wonder what specs are on the cam. Some of us deliberately undercam to be easy on the valve train until upgraded further or heads/intake etc are added. Sometimes a mild cam can be very FI friendly also compared to others also, and with wider LSA easier to drive and not post big numbers .
Dyno numbers are subjective and need to be compared to other dynos read outs for the same exact everything to be considered. There are other modifications, drive shaft safety loop, MGW shifter, shift light, interior and exterior things that can be fun.... Ever look at American Car Craft...LOL Basically you need to know what your looking for it too do, and unless your daddy warbucks it takes time and that's one of the fun things about hot rodding. Heck I used to have fleet..LOL

im looking for it to be fun to drive lots of power and put down a good number down the 1/4 its not a grocery getter so drivability doesnt have to be great and my numbers arent the highest i seen and im not saying they are not out there but i have not seen a bolt on cammed camaro make 500rwhp as far as my cam goes im not sure on the specs but told him to go pretty aggressive so im not trying to argue with what you say heck if you could swap my cam and give a ADDITIONAL 40rwhp id say ill be there tomorrow

suspension it the best thing you can do to this car. if you're ever going to break 500hp a new rear end and a clutch. clutch wouldnt be bad now. Im going to let mine go till its gone at 477hp 465ftlbs

Not to that power level yet. But, I would start upgrading the suspension. It makes a lot of difference.

Nitrous is the way to go for best bang for the buck. Go with a 150 jet. But youll need a new clutch very soon..

Nitrous, E85 and a guy who is not familiar with motor work. This Camaro wont make to the wedding date.
