Nah. Never gonna happen. Chevrolet will never put an LS7 in a 5th Gen. No such thing as a LS7 powered Z/28.

I think the LT line will be the new DI engines.

You are probably right Justice Pete, the cost would be high and the performance, although better than the LS3, is not that much greater, especially with the weight of these cars. Now if they shed a few hundred pounds thats different, but that would cost a lot

My guess is chevy and fbodfather are trying to think up a response to this release as we speak.

My prediction. 1LE+LS7=Z28

No auto. Manual only like the ZO6.

Sorry. My sarcasm got lost in the excitement. There is a hardcore group of 5th Gen enthusiasts that have been campaigning for a Z/28 on the forum. They collectively built it here.

Hmm 2011 2ss I got was $35,000, however prices have been going up

You don't buy a LS7 to boost it.... You buy it to turn high freckin revs for long periods of time with no heat soak.

I knew there was a reason why I havent traded my modded 2010 SS for a ZL1 yet! I have wanted a 427 Camaro ever since a school mate had a COPO for his daily driver back when they were just cheap gas guzzlers!

As others have hinted at, I think they are using the excess LS7 production from the intro of the C7 and absence of the Z06 and 427 convertible. Cafe standards will be kicking in soon too so this may be a last gasp for the 427 before they phase it out altogether. I don't see the Z28 getting mag ride though, unless it's an option on top of the base price.
