I think the only reason he said that is the motor is stock and still retains the stock rod bolts. Sure it still makes power, however with those rpms and stock rod bolts on a boosted engine = bad things will happen quickly. Chris |

I believe thats could be me...i am at 603 rwhp...detuned due to lack of fuel up top. my tq is 600 ft/lbs at 3000 rpm all the way up to 6k. that low end tq is what i think did the stock rear in. I never drop clutch or do first gear burnouts. I do rolling 45 mph and up slides. I was goin about 30 on 2nd gear, did about 60 percent throttle and rip it went. It was on its way out for sure. oh edit this was a mustang dyno btw |

those numbers seem reasonable to me. i make 720rwhp on 11psi on the stock bottom end. its not just about how much boost he's running. maybe they have a lot of timing in it as well and he also has head work too

Yep....he has enough cam to make 500 at the wheels n/a. Add 20hp/lb of boost and you're at 720. Add ported heads, meth, and the numbers seem reasonable to me. I do agree that spinning that thing much over 6500rpm is asking (or maybe begging) for trouble

Great stuff, and that's some killer rowing of the gears that's hard to do.

I never said the car doesn't have rod bolts lol. But last night I was having trouble trying to figure out a good launch rpm. Kept blowing off the tires. Did manage a 10.64 again but at 133mph. Stil having a hard time hitting a dead spot in between shifts. Almost like the car has a throttle delay when the clutch is let out fast.

no throttle delay on mine just a traction problem. it takes time to get it all figured out and right.. esp. on a manual..
what clutch are u running? |
