V6 Tune

I'm looking for a tune/performance programmer for the v6 camaro. I've looked at a couple, but I'm yet to find a good deal and I'm a little worried about how my car will perform afterwards. Obviously I would like the most bang for my buck, but I'm open to any and all suggestions!

Since you have a 2010, you really only have 2 options. There's IPF tuning and Trifecta. There's a hypertech programmer but it's not really worth it for the price. It's about 300 for it but I think the gains were like 8 hp. IPF tuning is currently being tested by a few members to document gains. It's supposed to be real good but if you can hold off, it might be worth it. Trifecta is about 425 and give you 13 hp and that one's already been proven.

Do you know how much the IPF will cost? Or an estimate.

I think it's like 700 dollars but if you talk to member IPF tuning, I'm pretty sure he can get you a better deal. I'd also watch out for like a black friday or christmas sale and get it cheaper. There's currently a member that's going to compare trifecta and ipf.

What does that include, because I've had people telling me to be careful with tuning because it could ruin all my computer relating things

Well anytime you tune, you have to be careful I guess. It's a risk some are willing to take and some are not. You're going to get a cable that plugs into your car and the tune. You're going to need to have a laptop since that's how you transfer it in.

That's where I'm stuck. I want the tune, but at the same time I don't know if its worth it. As for the laptop part, am I going to be messing with the shifting points, etc, etc, or is that all automatic with the tune?

We handle everything, you just do the flashing. And if you can do it with an internet connection (in range of wifi or something) I can connect to your laptop and make sure it works right if you'd like.

I just got my catback installed and high flow cats and probably need to do another data log to see if there is anything that may need to be added in a tune. Thoughts anyone? Last time I had it done the I had the axle back and stock exhaust. Wonder if the new cats and exhaust will make any difference at all.

Gonna try to do a data log today since the weather is nice. Maybe I'll get something back relatively soon.
