2016 Camaro 2SS 6spd manual, run 64K kms only, developed a mild whining noise correlating with engine rpm (independent of gear, car speed). GM checked & found no issues with belts and pulleys. Oil pressure is normal, everything else is normal. They suspect sound coming from oil pump, and quoted $5K (CDN) for its replacement.

Would you do it? Any recommendation for reputable shops where they could double check/diagnose the issue? I live in the greater Toronto area.
