I, personally, would wait for the SS with a manual. I can't stand driving automatic cars. It bores the crap out of me.

Getting S4 appraised now. If it's a good trade we may have to do something. We shall see.

Cons on the SS:

Fuel economy sucks
Interior is the nicest Chevy I've driven but lacking Audi refinement
RWD
Only a 3 year warranty

Pros

Big azz car with a big azz engine
Every nice option available
LS3

Would miss the AWD and 7 speed DCT

Thoughts from the house?
I'm sorry Jim... For reasons that go all the way back to a your visit to Daytona in a yellow SS...

I will always feel a like something wasn't fulfilled if you never own one....

About says it all there.

I remember the days when a question like this would have got a dozen answers.

BTW bhobbs, I'm not sure I need a manual in this car. I agree with your point though. It would be nice to have the new 8 speed auto though.

I love the SS. I keep trying to trade the G8GT in for one but the wife realllllly loves that car.( plus it's nice not having a car payment) I think the biggest question is can you live without the Audi refinement? I'm sure the AWD is nice during the winter as well....

For the 2015 SS, has GM offically stated that they will offer the magnetic ride suspension? I have seen a few threads with the rumors, but has it been confirmed? The mag ride would realy set off what is already a good car.

Do you view keeping the Audi as the more practical choice? I'm assuming so with the depreciation hit you would take. I could never pick an Audi over a Chevy but I'm not into luxury. I don't think I've seen an interior nicer than the SS that's still able to keep a sporty feel too it. The SS really is the ultimate sleeper. You can drive it knowing that you've got a great amount of performance without having to show it off. I've seen a few at events and dealerships and just saw the first one on the road yesterday. It was black and I almost drove past it without noticing.

Audi hasn't depreciated very badly. Pretty much would get back my original sown payment. And you need to at least check out a new CTS for interior wonderful ness. SS is the best Chevy I've seen but far from GMs best.

So, would the visceral impact of the LS3 overcome all other factors?
