I just bought 2ss orange from Safeway chevrolet in Burgaw, NC on 6/25 stock on lot for msrp. He just informed me that they will have a black on black 2ss/rs within 2 days on the lot, it is on his webpage now. great dealer with no bs and no ordering and waiting. Talk to Mike Lewis and tell him James Hawk sent you. Every dealer around Raleigh I spoke with including Hendrick had big markups.

Hendrick apparently thinks just because he bought the very first production 5th gen straight off the Oshawa line that he has the right for insane markups.

From what I've read, his dealer network has among the highest markups of all of them.

It's as if you should be incredibly honored to buy from a NASCAR owner/dealership network owner. Like his Camaros are better than anyone else's LOL!

I ordered my car 2ss on April 9th. Found out last week the dealer, Huntington Chevolet, NY. was going out of business. I went down to the dealer to find it was deserted. I found an oped door and located the owner. He stated he didn't call me because I received too good a price from his dealership, 500 under msrp, and the dealer he was transferring my order to would not honor it. Luckily my deposit was on my credit card so he credited me with that amount.
I went to the dealer (Atlantic Chevy),that was supposed to honor the salesprice and they told me they are getting 5000.00 over sticker. I said not from me your not and left.

Recall what the "Dale Earnhardt" Camaro was fetching? (for the signed item) Around 60k if memory serves. I suppose that some are fine with paying a premium to buy their way to the head of the line or to grab an exclusive. It's what the traffic'll bear and it's all relative to the fullness of one's wallet. Square this comment of mine with those fortunate individuals bidding the long-green at "Barrett-Jackson". That's some rarefied air...

The way I look at a car, that Earnhardt Camaro and any other Camaro in the country still use the same $3.50 oil filter.

In other words, to me, exclusivity and $1.00 gets you a large sweet tea at McDonalds. I don't care if the car comes with Stacy Keibler for a 2 month trial period, I still won't pay even near MSRP. It's invoice or lower for me.

Which is why I still do not have a Camaro, and I am perfectly happy.

When I do pick mine up for invoice, I'll have the same exact car as everyone else, only I will have paid $2k or more less and by that time everyone who paid MSRP or more will have many miles on theirs and mine will be brand new
