I hit 135 on Friday. I love my car! I bet there is a supercharged chally owner who's looking at Camaro's now too. Ahhh, to have access to closed airfields.

Popular Mechanics ran an article last month on a WOT showdown with a Mustang at the Bonneville Salt Flats. Stock 2SS vs a GT 500 I believe. Mustang was rated at over 500 HP (Crank) vs the 426 HP Camaro. They had the 155 mph limit removed by the fine folks at Lingenfelter. According to the story, both cars were fairly close in weight but they credited the additional hp and better aerodynamics of the Mustang for getting the higher top speed. Camaro went 174.4 and the Mustang went 184.7. They mentioned that the pony could conceivably do 200+ with some tuning but they think that due to drag, the camaro might not get there. Would be interesting to see the same run-out with a Z-28.

Hit 155mph multiple times on the front straight of the Pocono Raceway tri-oval this week in 4th gear. Here is that write-up;

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91626

Car felt super stable at those speeds although the car has been lowered about 1.25" in the front and almost 1" in the rear with Pfadt Drop Springs.

Braking from 155 to about 105 before entering Turn 1 was rock solid and stable as well.

As an aside, I have had the 155mph limiter removed so it isn't what was keeping me from going faster, it was the wall on the top side of Turn 1 I was worried more about

Yes sir this is true ... I hit that on the dyno in 4th and the car has a speed limiter as well for each gear and I think 145 is the limit for 4th gear !so we changed the limiter to 300 mph in 4th ... Pretty sure I won't hit that lol
