In a car driven that little, I would worry more about fuel injector issues from old gas or water buildup in the oil than sludge... Also, your gas is probably going bad and losing a measurable amount of VOC's between fill ups. Drive it more and or change your oil.
I use seafoam in everything, from the lawnmower to Ford trucks, to the Camaro or even my Hayabusa. It works great, never had an issue and I have even tried to hydro lock a few of my unloved vehicles with it. That's the only risk, if you dump a can through a vacuum line and hydro lock a cylinder. My favorite method is to put it in the crankcase the night before an oil change, let the vehicle idle for a few minutes then shut down. I start them back up for a minute or so, then change the oil. I've also left it in oil long term with zero ill effects, both added with fresh oil and other times between changes. Drive your car and change your oil. I would be more concerned about potential fuel injector issues than oil... I have had excellent results from redline fuel injector cleaner. Do you use fuel stabilizer? Also, seafoam works. I've pulled heads off of 200K mile engines and found very little carbon, and lots of clean aluminum after using seafoam. In another worst case scenario, my 68 cutlass went from firing on 6 cylinders to all 8 after using seafoam in the oil and vaccum line. It's never caused me any issues and has frequently resulted slight fuel efficiency or power gains. Also permanently "fixed" an EGR code in my mothers accord after 2-3 vacuum line treatments.
