It has unlimited potential, but i'd start with the base and go from there. There is a ton to learn and i'd start doing research before jumping in to deep.
Thanks a lot man, will do.

What are your goals? Are you chasing a number? Track times? Street creed?
More importantly what is your budget?

Putting down 520 or anything in that area your gonna need a few other upgrades as well. You'll need a clutch, half shafts, a diff eventually lol or one good romp and those tires hooking and something will let go.

You pick a cam according to the parts you have chosen especially the heads. The heads is where your power will be made. But first you need to set your goals.

our defibrillator cam makes 470-480 rwhp and drives awesome on ls3 manual cars. only other mods needed are the standard, headers, exhaust, intake. to crank the 500 mark i would run our ported intake/tb combo and you should hit it no problem but if you really want to max it out a nice set of heads will do wonders!

I'm just interested in what it would take to get a fast, fun mountain car, that is drivable every day, 600-700bhp is probably good.
I'm thinking around 8-9K for the engine mods.
I've looked into clutches already, I was interested by the SPEC stage 2, or 2+ one, are those any good?
Could you link me to some good half shafts? I'm kinda clueless to some of the details :P
Okay cool Thanks Helpful people FTW!

Also, does an aluminium flywheel make the engine rev faster? Or is that just non-sense?

Like Litle said set a goal. Make a plan to reach your goal. Most importantly start saving your $$$. Your gonna need to pay to play.

The hardest part is the fact that you live in Canada.

To save money you can either sell your shortblock minus the accessories, oil pan and covers. Sell your head as well. Some sponsors buy shortblocks that are still good.

You can then order a stroker motor from Livernois or AES they are in Illinois.
Or from TSP (Texas Speed ). Check their websites and give them a call.

SPEC Stage 3+! That's overkill for you, but that's what I went with based on their recommendation.

HAHA....resurrected!!!

You should be able to get somewhere in that range with that budget. You actually aren't far from a supercharger, but I get this is about NA power.

I know a guy in my area with the NF cam, ported heads, headers etc as well of course and he put down 520rwhp at Lethal.

Of course these are just numbers on a dyno, but if that is your goal it is very doable.
