Looks incredible! Nice work! Get some vids!

PS - 35 hours?!? Were you taking your time? (just asking, this is one of the blowers I was looking at, but was hoping for an 8-10hr type install).

Yeah I was taking my time. Going step by step in the book making sure everything is perfect. And doing it in my garage on jack stands. Knowing what I know now...I might be able to cut that in half. Some of the steps fought me like crazy too. Go for the KB! It's awesome. I'm willing to have a chat on the phone to answer detailed questions you have about the kit or the install.

I am on my third clutch. I did not do the work myself, so each time I pay an extra $200 for the clutch install.

I did not know you needed to remove the PD blower to replace the clutch. Same thing as twin turbos off the manifolds. You have to pay to play I guess.

Quick update here. It seems that IAT's are such the hot topic around Kenne Bell Camaro's. I've got some data now. My IAT's seem to be running about 35-40 degrees above ambient. It was 80 out yesterday, and I was running right around 115-120 IAT's. When I shut the bypass and go into boost, the IAT's will actually drop almost instantly. Sometimes by almost 5 degrees. But if I keep it hard in boost through a few gears...it will take back those 5 degrees and be in line with where it started. I've got a 1st - 3rd gear hard boost pull logged from 0-100mph...the IAT's stayed in the 117-122 range the entire pull.

If I stop and get out of my car, the blower is just warm to the touch. If it's colder out...the blower has barely any heat in it to the touch. The other night it got down into the 50's so I went for a ride. The CAI intake tube and rear inlet manifold were literally cold to the touch when I stopped and felt them. The blower case was slightly warm at best. Let it sit there for 15 minutes without running...it's burning hot simply from conduction from the engine block. Go for a drive and it cools right down again. All signs point to a system that is fully capable of keeping itself out of heat soak fairly well (at least from 80 degrees and below).

Now I've battled with a few on this board with what I thought was a lot of BS around how bad KB IAT's were while all other PD supercharger brands were such awesome perfect IAT performers. So far, everything seems good...as I expected. No soaring IAT's. No burning hot blower cases where "I can fry a burger on it" except after when it sits there not running and soaks up heat from the engine...which would happen for anything. Overall thermal stability seems good, and recovery times are very very quick. Now I do have the "big gun" intercooler brick as KB calls it. Not sure how much this factors in to my results. I still need to get a humid 90 degree day to test. And I expect it to be warmer for sure. I'll report back again when I get a chance to take it out on a scorcher temp day.

So far, IAT's are in line with what id hoped for. I hope this encourages some others who research on this board to once again consider this supercharger...

As a side note...to data log I bought the Kiwi PLX wifi device and then bought the DashCommand app for my iPhone. For about $80, I've got some awesome data logging! Works awesome. I would highly encourage this combo...

One more update. My data logs show that my tune is commanding 11.68:1 AFR and 16.5 degrees of timing during WOT boost pulls. This was during the 1-3 gear boost pulls at 117-122 degree IAT's (80 degree ambient).

I think that is extremely conservative. But would like your input. I think it's got a lot left in it!

Dyno day has been delayed a bit because I need new brakes on all 4 corners of my truck and 2 new front wheel hub assemblies (bad bearings). A nice little gift for the pocket book. Need to back off spending money on vehicles before I lose my marriage! But dyno day will be coming...just might have to be next month.

Glad you like it. When I had my KB I also has ACS scoops on my car. The intake filter was just behind the scoop and all it did was suck in cool air to help my IATs. You say you were 35-40 above ambient temp, while mine was only 15 above with scoops. I also added the Torq dual pass Heat exchanger which helped keep temps at 5-10 above ambient. MY only issues were when sitting in stop and go traffic on those 90+ days and I saw 125-130 IAT. Just something to consider.

FYI: Ive got an m6 and have had the gearbox out twice. You don't need to take the blower or any part of it off to get the gearbox out. You just need a long extension and a little patience. Can have it sitting on the floor in about 30 minutes. I do have a hoist to do it on and can imagine it would be a bitch on stands

Those sound like some really low IAT's. I need to look into that scoop. I can see how that would help to ram cool air into the intake. Even 125-130 in stop and go is really quite good! I see about 150's if I'm in traffic...but then it drops right down to 35-40 above ambient as soon as I start moving again.

I've tried to find those Torq HX's...but I think they went out of business??
