Ok, maybe not a "Crisis" but it sure did start an uproar within General Motors. In 1987 the flag ship car for GM met its match and Chevrolet did not appreciate it. The Grand National had been around for a few years now, but late in 87 Buick put out a low production GNX (547). A 276 HP Turbo V6 that matched the cost of the current Corvette. Rumors milled that a lawsuit was filed within GM. In 1988 the Regal was completely re-designed as a front wheel drive vehicle and the GNX became a classic collectible. Like I said, it wasn't really a crisis but it was interesting to see happen.

The customers that have owned 3 5th gens already are easy pickens. Any marketing person will tell you that the new customer is their top priority. A proven LS7 Z28 would bring in the Chevy diehards and a new type of performance enthusiast, even more so if it outperforms everything in the market at an affordable price.

I guess you don't have a background in marketing? Taking your advice Buick would be out of business.

GM has listened and has made changes based off of the input received from this community! It is really impressive actually....

Thanks for the link. Way too much there to try to catch up on tonight, though.

What you don't seem to realize is that there are many POTENTIAL paying customers that are awaiting the arrival of the Camaro they really want before they plunk down their hard earned cash. Take me for example, 5th gen SS, sorry, doesn't meet my criteria, 5th gen ZL1, not my first choice so I won't buy it. A new Z/28 with a powerful NA V8 and awesome handling, man I'm right there, when can I have it delivered!

I'm with you. I have driven an SS and it was nice but not what I was looking for. I haven't driven a ZL1 but I wouldn't want one anyways.

Alright... Last post on this topic. Three negative replies from three people with a thousand posts that never owned the fifth gen car. I owned the older gen Cameros. The difference is not what can be put in words.

Have you ever tried to describe a window to someone that has never seen one? It's not possible. That what you are doing...describing a window you have never seen to a crowd of people that own them. Better yet you are telling the people that make them what they are doing wrong. It's awkward. Later bro.

So now we don't understand how the design of the components that make up a car can effect it? Or maybe we just don't know what a car is? I don't know where to begin...but it looks like we don't have to. Windows??? Strange!

Dude, I've owned camaro's of the past (3 of them, one a Z/28) and I've also lost interest in the Camaro since the late 3rd and 4th Gens due to quality and styling. I get what the OP is saying, he's trying to preserve the integrity of the original idea of the Z/28. I could get an LT or an SS, but I would prefer to have a Z, and by the end of 2014, I will know if it will be a Z/28 or a ZL1, either way I'm getting a Z.

Depending on what GM decides in how it builds the Z/28 will have a direct influence on my purchase decision, and for me, I would prefer it to have what these intelligent and knowledgeable gentlemen in this forum that are Zeelievers built the way a Z/28 should be. They aren't telling GM what they are doing wrong, they are telling GM what they SHOULD be doing, big difference. Not awkward at all, just expressing their feeling about what many share, you just don't seem to understand and choose to have your own opinion which is fine, but when the Z/28 comes out I'm sure it will be because of the people who speak up in this and other forums like this.

Take a look at what's happening for the 2013 MY, and look how many people are disliking the look of the MYLink Radio. If you've read the thread for the changes for 2013, lot of negative reviews. Feels like GM/Chevy isn't putting it's best foot forward on certain interior and exterior features, which might affect future sales.

You state the OP is describing a window that he has never seen, but how can you be so sure...just because he doesn't OWN one yet doesn't mean he hasn't experienced it. Your ASSuming things and you know how that goes. The guys in the Z/28 thread make a lot of sense to me, and I'm just an average joe.

No need to. If you know yourself well enough, it is entirely possible to know exactly what "flavor" you'd want in your 5th gen even before walking into your local Chevy store. I don't think I've ever walked into a dealership without a very clear idea of what I wanted - and actively DIDN'T want - in what I was about to buy.
