Car will not start....no power
Need some help....please!!! Has anyone had an issue with their car not starting? I have power when I first turn the key, dash lights up and radio turns on, but when I go to start it I lose all power and nothing happens...not even a crank.
This happened to me about 2 years ago...and when it got towed to the dealer it started right up...of course! |

Do you have the 4 pack? If so what does he voltage gauge read? Maybe you need to charge your battery? How long has it sat for?

No 4 pack. I drove the car earlier today with no issues. I have 12+ volts coming from the battery. When I turn the key to the first position, everything lights up like it normally does, but when I turn the key to start the car, everything cuts off and nothing happens....the engine doesn't even turn over.

You could have a dead cell in the battery, 12 volt at rest but soon as you demand power it shorts out to nothing! Have your battery checked if you haven't done so yet? Maybe check your battery connection before pulling the battery. That's where I would start.

Do you have a volt meter and some help unless you have some long leads? Check at the battery and also check under the hood, there should be a power lead that has a red plastic cover on the drivers side. Start at the battery and work on from there. If you don't have a volt meter well then your off to the auto parts store. Good Luck!

If it's a manual check the neutral safety switch right behind the clutch.
