I think he recommends those for the sound. The stockers do flow well......

Thanks for starting this thread Steve I have a couple questions.

A little background info. I bought my car and it had a K&N cold air intake JRE race scoop and Borla mufflers; right away I got it on a road course and have had a blast. But my love is for the drag strip so this year I finally got out and made some passes. The first time out I was on the stock wheels with Conti tires. The second time out I got my self a set of Mickey Thompson Drag radials and I just can't get the car to launch, it keep falling on its face.

1) I was wondering if a trans tune could help with this or is a converter a better way to go?

2) I also want to add headers this spring and wondered if you had any suggestions. Currently thinking of going with Kooks.

3) I was thinking of trailering the car to your place and getting it dyno tuned once I have the headers in. Could this be done in one day?

Thanks for the help and great community support.

I guess it's probably not the optimum time of year to do data logging?

That makes sense. Thanks for jumping in. I am looking for a deeper sound but def not really loud. Def more than stock, but not obnoxious.

HI Sir

A transmission tune will certainly help this greatly for you and obviously we would need to address the engine tune as well especially through the torque management being that you are running a sticky tire combo, so this together will make a huge difference. As to headers Kooks are a very good unit and if you dont want to spend quite that much the stainless power units work extremely well also and it saves you a good amount of money as well. and as to tuning your car its all done whilst you wait sir and your looking at a couple of hours to complete (obviously will will spend a little time chatting and shooting the breeze as well )
Feel free to ring me or pm me if you have any questions kind sir and i look forward to working with you in the future

Thanks Steve

hey steve....a question for you....my car trapped 112 mph with my boltons. After my 391 gear install my mph dropped to 108. My tuner said the tune is fine...just wondering if my aggressive trans tune needs some adjustment....i cant see why it would drop 3 or 4 mph..thanks

the gears will improve your 60 foot times quite well but yes your mph can suffer if your changing into the next gear before the finish line and dropping the accelleration, what gear are you crossing the finish line in and at what rpm?

I really am not sure of the rpms at the finish...if you listen to this run it sounds like im holding 4th across the line.....since this run i now have a 3200 stall which changes a few things i guess.
