My day at the dealerships.

First dealership: (1 Bumblebee on the lot)
I look at the bumblebee and tell the salesman I'm actually looking for a SIM 2SS/RS M6, he proceeds to tell me that they could probably order one but I'd be looking at about $50k. I told him I was looking to pay around $38k tops for exactly what I wanted, he of course proceeded to throw out false msrp #'s like a 2LT being around 30k and a 1SS around $35k. I took his card and left.

BTW: sticker on the bumblebee on the lot... $67,995

Second Dealership: (No camaros)
I tell the salesman I wanted a camaro he looks at whats coming in and tells me I should be looking to spend $40k minimum for an LT. Then he proceeds to tell me that the camaro isn't for everyone. I left.

Third Dealership: (1 camaro purchased from the nearby chevy dealership)
I asked them what they were expecting to get for their camaro that had 300 miles on it and a paint job that looked like they buffed it with rocks. He told me $61,995. I called it a day.

how much is it to ship a car to hawaii ? If dealers over there are marking up like crazy it could be cheaper to buy in CA under MSRP and ship it.

Around $1500 so even at msrp usaa$750 discount plus $500 from the 60 return policy it's still way cheaper to get it from Cali.

lol it may not be able to spread it's wings but ill be crusing in style. In terms of camaros on island I've seen about 3 although I've heard of about 5 including the one at the first dealership that the manager is "driving"

No idea they don't even use a regular window sticker here just a printout with their prices.

Where is the Hawaii 5-O when you need them. They should start crushing the skulls of those salesmen

That is against federal law.... they can use supplement stickers but they are not supposed to remove the factory price sticker until the car is sold... I would contact a federal DA about that...

Monroney sticker
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search

In the United States, all new automobiles are required to include an official form listing certain information about the car; this window sticker is commonly called a Monroney sticker in the industry (or simply a window sticker), named after Almer Stillwell "Mike" Monroney, United States Senator from Oklahoma. Monroney sponsored the Automobile Information Disclosure Act of 1958, which mandated disclosure of information on new automobiles.

The sticker is required to be affixed to the side window or windshield of every new car sold in the United States and can only be removed by the consumer (Chapter 28, Sections 1231-1233, Title 15 of the United States Code). A fine of up to US$1,000 per vehicle plus one year in jail for each offense is authorized if the sticker is missing. The act does not apply to vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of more than 8500 pounds (3856 kg).

The sticker must include the following information:

The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP)
Engine and transmission specifications
Standard equipment and warranty details
Optional equipment and pricing
City and highway fuel economy ratings, as determined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
As of September 2007, crash test ratings as determined by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

You want to have some fun and put them on the spot? Go to camaro.spasticsquirel.com and find a vin of one of the cars that is built for the dealership there in Hawaii.

Print out a copy of the window sticker bring it along with you and ask "why you raping me"

By the way 30k is about right for a fully loaded 2LT. That is about what I paid after I added the painted engine cover, RJT paint, Rally Sport, Sunroof, and stripes.
