If your performing oil changes as recommended by the manufacturer using a chaser oil to get the remaining oil out is a complete and total waste of money. The small amount of leftover oil will have ZERO impact on wear or engine life.

I just put it on the shelf in the shop and use it on the next change. Seems like half my free time and money are spent changing oil.

Right now I have the C10 that uses VR1 10w30, Tractor using VR1 20w50, 1500 using syn 0w20, SS using 5w30, boat using yama-lube, OBS Suburban and XJ both using dino 10w30, and the wife has her Prius serviced at the shop.

My shop looks like a lube center. I dispose of oil 55gal at a time, lol.

I was told by a Mobil 1 tech to bring my engine up to operating temperature before draining the oil. This will suspend impurities in the oil and be flushed out when the drain plug is removed. Synthetic oil is to expensive to waste.

This is what I've always done with all my cars to date. Just be careful of the hot oil!!
