Z28 Spoiler Question

I'm about to pull the trigger on the Z28 Aero Kit that includes the Z28 spoiler. I have been doing a little reading and find that those that remove an already installed ZL-1 wing, have discovered that it screws up the paint on the trunk lid in a few areas. I removed mine today to see how bad my was. I was hoping since I only have 7000 miles on the car, it wouldn't be bad... Looks like I was wrong. My question is, for those that have installed the Z wing, did it cover the damaged areas on the truck lid?

The lid is completely clean, so all the imperfection you see is there and the result of the ZL-1 wing that was installed from the factory on the car.

unfortunately, it's not doesn't look like it will cover the paint damage on the far edges. The Z28 spoiler covers less real estate. repainting the trunk should be around $300.

Not all is lost. Your car is white. Pick up a Dr. Color Chip kit. Then go about cleaning the spots you will fill in really well. Use the touch up paint to slowly fill in the spots. After afew applicatons, itll be back to newish.

Eeeeh, spend the money and get it painted. If it were a 1998 Honda Civic, the yeah, Dr. Colorshit all the way. Do it right the first time for zero regrets.

I would go to the dealer. Myself and many others have had it covered under warranty. It's a know issue that GM knows about

My Camaro is white also. The stock SS spoiler rubbed through the trunk paint on both sides. Adding the ZL1 spoiler did not cover the rub marks up. The other issue I had was extra holes in the deck lid for the mounting studs. I ended up replacing the deck lid and spoiler with carbon fiber pieces from Anderson Composites.

LSX Camaro: Beautiful car. Love the upgrades. I wish they used those tail lights on the Z/28.

The 2014, 2015 Z/28 tail lights are the closest resemblance to the '67 to 69 Camaro tail lights of all the modern Camaros. How can you not like them the best of all ?
