Down the road, possibly...

Look at any high hp convertible from the 60s, and there you go...

2011 should be the lowest production, too

When I was signing the papers to take ownership of my Convertible, the business manager said, "You know you're probably buying a collector's car, don't you?" To which I told him that some lucky neice or nephew might make some money from it (my wife & I don't have kids) but I'll never see a dime of it 'cause I'm not going to sell it as long as I can still drive.

That's great advise everybody just drive the heck out of your 2011 Verts that way in 25 years after mine has been garage kept used lightly with low mileage; it will make mine worth more....

Speaking about value, I wonder what my 2011 Manual Trans Vert Indy 500 Pace Car will be worth in say 25 years.. Considering the percentage of 1969 Vert Indy Pace Cars built, to the total population in 69 and the percentage of 2011 Manual Verts to today’s population, I am betting it will above average.

Heck, the way things are going, all muscle cars might be worth something in 10 years when all cars are electric....

Oh yeah, I will be first in line for the Eco-Crate Hybrid engine for the Camaro. This way, I can keep the 5th Gen styling and not for that 7th Gen, green planet friendly, Eco-drive 4 cylinder thing they will consider sporty.

oh wait, I may be dead by then. never mind, I almost cared for a moment, now back to driving the wheels off it.

I used to be a gas turbine engineer, and we developed hybrid mobile apps for buses and I cringe when I read about battery powered cars.

Where does the power come from to charge your batteries? A power plant. And what is the likely energy source? Natural gas, coal and to a lesser extent, nuclear and hydro. Wait, natural gas and coal are dirty! And transmission and transformer losses make it less efficient than gasoline. And then you have to dispose of hazardous batteries and end of life.

Would you believe that gasoline is better for the environment then battery powered cars?

coolman, perhaps. But they will be refrigerators and toasters with 426HP (SS) nonetheless!!

At 49, I don't count on being here 25 or 35 years from now. Well yes, but not above ground necessarily - through no choice of my own.

Bottom line: Enjoy it, life can be too short! I've seen it happen.

Don't sell yourself short. There was a post from a guy that bought a vert, and his 94 year old grandpa in Florida liked it so much, he bought one too! Go down in flames and don't take it with you. I just turned 50 last week and I plan on driving this car for 3o years.

Now, now AW it's not nice or popular to tell the truth about this most misunderstood hype in the world today. It's only important to play nice in the sandbox and just pony up the extra $6K for that hybrid that you will not keep long enough to recoup the extra expenditure. What's wrong with u!!!

Thanks, ambientweather. Wow, yeah that's how I want to be @94! Maybe the excitement from owning and driving OrangeVert will extend my life!

Too bad for the neices and nephews, they'll have to buy their own!
