2015 Camaro Power Steering Issue (with video) - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have a 2015 Camaro LS with a little under 20,000 miles on it. Recently I've noticed a whine coming from the steering wheel when turning the wheel. I went and checked the PS fluid and the level is good as is the color, but it has a heavy smell of burnt electrics/motor to it. I haven't gotten any dash warnings about it yet. Looks like there's a lot of power steering issues on this forum, I wasn't able to find any exactly like my symptoms but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced similar. I'm going to make an appointment next weekend to take it in.

Sounds normal to me . Mine makes the same noise .

I had the same issue. The dealer replaced the rack. Apparently it's a bushing input shaft enters the rack unit.... I had an extended warranty, so I only had to pay the deductible.
