This would make for a great lawsuit. I don't care if ebay policy is to list a vin. You can't sell a car with a different vin without stating what you are doing. They will get themselves in trouble doing this. They need to state exactly was the terms are. I've seen these types of ads done correctly and everyone with half a brain could understand what is going on. This ad makes them look very fishy. They don't even have the specs listed correctly for a ZL1. That has nothing to do with a vin #. I would never buy from them any ways for selling a car for that much over MSRP.

I understand that they are going to try and profit from it but a higher quality listing and better information should be listed. If they plan on selling it through and online medium they better have proper information and clearly state that the VIN listed is only for a temporary purpose or listing. I don't think we need to go to any extremes, I just disagree with how they have it listed. Seems deceitful to me.

If it bothers you folks that much then don't look at it. We all know what they are doing. People did this when the 2010 first came out as well.

Have heard that you have to be careful to check ebay adds are not selling fakes. Even ebay admits to having a problem with fake adds. Best approach is to check any add for truthfullness before purchasing. There may also be a problem using paypal with getting a reimbursement if sale is fake and fraudulent. Best approach is to call your credit card company before purchase to make sure they will back you up.I think protections are better with credit card companies than with paypal. Do not pay with a debit card because protections are much weaker for fake/fraud sale reversals. Also make sure payment method you use is reversible if any fake/fraudulent sale made.

Use of escrow companies is also another method to protect from fake/fraudulent sales practices.
