Don't count Nissan out, especially if they're working with Williams. If they drop a few hundred pounds somehow and equip it for harder launches it can happen. There's a new sheriff in town apparently. I can't wait to see what the c7 z06 has to offer in response.

Bugatti 0-160mph in 12.2 seconds!!!!! Damn... Too bad that most races are only in the 1/4 or 1/2 mile.

Trapped 145 MPH in the 1/4th, so it was easily at 160 mph before the 1/2 mile mark.

This thing is going to nasty fast. Not my cup of tea since I have heard from numerous owners that the car lacks soul and no matter how hard you push it you feel the car is doing all the work and not you buts it's an incredible machine.

Not my cup of tea looks wise. Speed isn't everything and it isn't the only thing

Gearing and Traction Control is what got the GT-R to this point now, to get to 60 mph in 2 seconds flat is going to take power and a lot of weight loss.

The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is officially the fastest accelerating production car in the world. The Super Sport makes 1,200hp/1,106 lb-ft. It does 0-60mph in 2.46 seconds. It weighs 4,053 lbs.

The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento Concept has AWD and similar HP that the GTR will have (570hp), and does 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds

The difference is that the Sesto weighs 2,200 lbs

Ken Block's Gymkhana 3 Ford Fiesta has 650 hp/660 lb-ft, weighs 2,425 lbs and does 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds on RACE TIRES
http://www.fordracingpartsdirect.com...esta_s/251.htm

Now if Nissan can find some way to make a car that weighs an additional 1,000 lbs and has approx 100 fewer hp accelerate as fast on street tires as Block's car did on race tires, then I would have to crown them the best ever!

Oh and almost forgot, the AMS Alpha Omega GT-R! It does 0-60 mph in 1.72 seconds...but it has 1,700 hp.

Usually, I'd break out the popcorn for this, but this is unreasonable. If they do it, I'll accept being wrong for once, but I'm never wrong.

Car is super impressive, but I wouldn't buy one even if I had the money. Not my thing, and I don't believe they will hit 2 seconds flat.

They were $69k in 2008, very close to the ZO6 in pricing at the time ($74k). I NEVER saw a GT-R for MSRP when they first hit the lots. We have 3 Nissan dealerships here that got them when they first came out, and all of dealerships had markups of at least $20k-$25k. I guess someone paid it though, I wouldn't.

The only thing I saw worse than that was the markup of a ZR1 at the dealership I got my Camaro from in 2009. A $119k ZR1 was marked up to $159k!

This Chart Shows How The Nissan GT-R's Price Has Skyrocketed 35% In Five Years

Quote:
Remember when the Nissan GT-R was considered a budget super car? Yeah, not anymore. The 2013 Nissan GT-R's price has ballooned to $96,820 for the base GT-R Premium model and $106,320 for the Black Edition. That's a 35% inflation in price since this model of the car first went on sale for $69,850 back in July 2008. Godzilla's now got a price to match its girth.

Any discussion of pricing with the GT-R comes with the gigantic caveat that, no matter how much it costs, it's damn fast. Using the metric of Nürburgring lap times it is — to borrow a line from A.J. Liebling — faster than anything cheaper than it, and cheaper than anything faster than it.

It was a remarkable value when it debuted. Grenaded transmissions aside, it would pull a 0-to-60 mph run in the mid 3.0-second range with a 193 mph top speed. Around the 'Ring it was faster than a Porsche 911 Turbo and roughly half the price.

Since then the performance and power has only gotten better. For the 2013 model year the GT-R now puts out 545 horsepower (up from 485 horsepower at launch and 530 horsepower last year) and hits 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds from a dead stop.

But the gap is narrowing. When the GT-R launched the Premium model (which is now the de facto base model) the MSRP was just $71,900. Few were likely to get that price at the dealer, but it's the only fair way to compare costs from year-to-year.

Before, the price difference between a Corvette ZR1 was around $30,000. Now the $111,600 ZR1 is only $5,000 more expensive than the comparable Black Edition GT-R (and the ZR1 is faster around the 'Ring). And the completely redesigned 2012 Porsche 911 is actually cheaper, with a base price of $82,100.

Few cars have ever gone up so much in price during a single generation, which leaves prospective buyers to wonder if the new GT-R is now too expensive or merely as expensive as it should have been all along. Only now Nissan's pocketing the profits rather than the dealerships.

I would have to see it to believe it.
I do like those GT-R's though and wouldn't mind owning one. Those cars move out. But for over 100K, it better move out! lol
