I miss my 2SS, stupid shop has had it for 3 weeks now and still scratching their heads. a BBB complaint as been filed and Im demanding a new steering rack or they can buy the car back. Hopefully they'll realize its MUCH cheaper to replace the rack than it is to buy my car back and stop penny picking around my time - its ridiculous GM would rather screw around a couple of hundred dollars repairs letting someone drive out in a car that costs nearly 50k in a potentially unsafe manner versus just replacing the rack and moving on. There's only so many components that control the power steering in this car its not like I'm asking them to rebuild the car from scratch.

Got her back, they ended up finding "corroded terminals" at the PS Gear - and replaced them hopefully this will resolve the issue. I have to admit however that the power steering does feel more responsive than it ever has before. There were times where it was very mildly choppy. So hopefully this will be the fix.

Glad it's fixed.

This falls into the "check main power connector at rack"

It was never seated properly, then moisture intrusion caused corrosion.

Main power connector at rack or steering torque sensor.
