Update - GM had the tech pull the bank 1 head. No issues. They instructed the tech to replace all lifters however. Tech is doing that now. Tech told them he doesn't think that is the problem and he thinks it's bottom end. They are going to do the lifters and then recheck for the knock. GM is being cheap.

Update - Dealer called me today saying car is ready. Said they drove it 70 miles no issue but we both don't think that was the problem. Going to pick it up and see what happens.

My 2SS is making a rattle around 1,000 RPM. Only does it upon light throttle application and as you are coming off the throttle. Hopefully it's just a heat shield but it sounds 'rotational and fast' to be just a rattle. 2 videos below. One as I'm coming off the throttle the other is cracking the throttle pulling into the garage. I'll be visiting the dealer tomorrow.

Make sure they also completed an oil change.

Failing to change the oil when opening the intake/lifter valley/heads can cause debris and coolant to contaminate the engine's oil.

I've seen more than one engine limp in with internal damage from this.

AFM disabled on manual trans-Camaro's??

"Doing a bunch of research, found this page. There have been instances of AFM lifters collapsing because of failed oil control solenoids or the lifter guides allowing the lifter to rotate. Other than that, design flaws were noted. Normally, oil pressure collapses the lifter in V4 mode and when it switches back to V8 mode, relieves that pressure in the lifter to allow it to come back to full height. When they fail, it's an internal mechanical failure preventing them to return. In that same page, it says that deactivation should prevent the AFM lifters from failing. But, this is assuming that the lifter guides are good."
