have someone stand in front of the car and brace it so that it doesn't move forward. Then floor it.

I hold the brake with my right foot and roll it over onto the gas pedal and let out on the clutch. Works for me, hard on brakes though.. A line lock is the best method !!

The police make a good cheering section. Go inside the police station and tell them you want to use their parking lot to show them something.
At that point, just jump on the gas and if you must, aim at them.
Thats how you do a proper burn out!!! Maybe they can give give you some pointers on how to do it better?Remember, theses guys are in cars all day. Who better to ask?

Typically in a manual you stab the gas (rpm will vary based on traction) while quickly popping up the clutch to get the rear wheels spinning. As soon as the rear wheels start spinning, you quickly move your left foot onto the brake. If you apply to much brake you'll stop the burnout so it takes a little practice to find the best balance between brake pressure and gas to keep the burnout going.

Once you figure it out its easy, but it takes a little practice.
