Whipple install or buy zl1

Looking for some advice I have a 2013 1le that has cai,btr stage 4 cam, tsp longtubes no cats, fast intake, ported tb.,ati 10% underdrive pulley, bmr subframe bushings, toe links and trailing arms and I feel I still need more power, I am thinking of doing a whipple supercharger but then I also been thinking why spend $8,800plus tax to have one installed plus another $1,200 for a p.d.s. cam installed with the supercharger comes a bigger risk of snapping axles so I would probably need to change them down the road. Maybe I should just put the $10,000 down on a 2014-15 zl1 do longtubes and a pds cam in it. If I get the zl1 I would not trade my 1le I have more in it than anyone would want to pay for it. I only have 21,000 miles on it. So what would you do whipple or buy a zl1?

You could probably get close to $25K for the 1LE. So with the $10K you want to put into a S/C, you're almost at ZL1 money.

I say it all boils down to what your intend use for the car is. If your going to do some serious drag racing or street racing, then you might want to go with a ZL1 for the beefed up parts. But if your car is & will remain a street car, then keep what you have.
I put a Heatbeat SC on mine almost a year ago. I have had no issues and have no regrets. My car is a weekend “fun” car along an occasional track day (road course) thrown in. I do not babby it either. I regularly enjoy some “spirited” driving. But I also don’t do hard launches out of the hole or burnouts. No point on street tires anyways. But I have no serious fear in breaking things, though I know it could eventually happen. Could happen to a stock car too though too if you dog them too much.

given your situation, id rather have two Camaro's if it were me I already tried trading in my 2014 1le w/ 35K miles and good clean mods this month and they only offered 20,500, I would have to put 9k down just to break even so I'm gonna have to keep mine and just boost it

What about turbos and keeping the cam? Also, you would be better off for the road course with the turbos than the sc. You would have to get rid of the LT’s though.

If you want a road ready car ZL1, for me personalization pushed my decision.

That’s a mint setup you got. I’ve actually been looking into adding FI to mine too. Been researching pros/cons of Whipple vs. Procharger. I have Kooks 1 7/8” LT’s, Rotofab cai, LG Motorsports G6X3 cam, Corsa exhaust and a tune. I personally would stick with what you have rather than upgrade. I thought long and hard about modding mine before doing so or holding off to upgrade down the road. Chose to mod bc it’s more fun/personalized for me and I’d wanna mod whatever I upgraded too anyway, making it tough financially to upgrade bc money would be too tight to mod afterwards. I wouldn’t be able to upgrade to a ZL1 or Z06 and leave it stock. You can save money and not swap to a blower cam, it is beneficial yet not mandatory. If you need more boost out of it bc of your cam specs you can play with your pulley sizes. Blower will actually accentuate your cam and calm it down, it’s all in the tune. I’m far from an expert, just what I’ve learned from very qualified people.

ZL1, just slapping on a supercharger will not get you a forged bottom end, bigger brakes ,and better /stronger halfshafts in the rear. And then when you do sell it a real ZL1 will bring much more than a modified 1LE . So over all the ZL1 is the best option.
