This is exactly along the lines of what I was thinking. I'll just call mine fast

I'll kinda' miss the way they used to use the Y-Body/F-Body names and such. However, like was mentioned already, since there won't be a brother (i.e. Firebird) to share this chassis with, I guess Camaro will do just fine. It's too bad the brother doesn't come back, but maybe if the market supports one, in time, we'll see a comeback.

I just hope that the community can come up with something kinda' clever to call it like we had before. JMHO.

It is a Zeta platform vehicle, but given that there is no Firebird, it probably makes the most sense to call it a Camaro.
ive always wondered this, once again this forum has brought me up to speed,,, thanks

I'm either calling it my 5th gen or Zeta. No more F-body i guess, and so long for my J-body lol. I also forgot our Canadian friends call it zed.

I kinda like 5th gen, but i like the whole Zeta thing too. If the car continues on the Zeta platform for gens 6 and 7 then i'll prolly call it the "Zeta"...

This should be a poll. I vote for Zeta plain and simple.

As pointed out, you can't call it Zeta or Z-body....the G8, the CTS, rumors of a new Impala at one time, how many Holdens, how many Vaxhauls, etc...aren't they all Zetas?

I mean even the Lambdas...the Enclave, the Outlook, the Acadia, the Traverse, now there will be one for Saab. Don't be surprised if there isn't one to replace the Caddy SRX. And who knows how many there will be for Holden, Vaxhaul, Daewoo, etc.

You used to be able to say F-body and it was a Camaro or a Firebird. That was it. Just won't be true any more...now there are numerous variations on the platform.

I think technically, you have to stick with Camaro. Although nicknames like BadAss, KickAss, etc will all catch on. "Mine" was a good one too.

The CTS is Sigma.

Sure you can. If someone says they're having problems with the A-cars, you know they're talking about the Cobalt/G5...if you know how the system works.

As far as I know, STS is staying on Sigma or Sigma II (or whatever they call the successor to Sigma). Reason being, Sigma is the luxury platform and Zeta is the cheaper, mainstream platform.

I'd really like to know what makes a vehicle architecture inherently "luxury" instead of "mainstream". I'd love to sit down with a GM platform engineer for a couple hours.

Also, the new Saab CUV and the SRX replacement will be on Theta Epsilon.
