Stephens,

Yes, I've been thinking about that. The only thing sure in life is you're never sure. Should keep all the stuff I take off just in case, although the tires I would sell. Don't need them taking space.

So I need:

Heritage wheels
LS calipers
non rollerskate pads

Muhahahahaha... My plan is coming together.

Why don't you just buy some after-market 18" wheels that will fit over the Brembos?

Because I can't find that many that do fit over the Brembos. Do you have any links? I'd be happy to check them out, thanks.

The Forgestar F14s and CF5 18s do.

Im interested to see how your project turns out.

I have a set of heritage wheels and tires I've been wanting to do something with. Part of me wants to keep them all black, maybe a red line on them...

But either way, I say go forward with the idea and def. post pics!!!

Good luck

Darth emma,

Thanks, but yeah, I've seen those before and they are the style I just can't gravitate to.

The spokes come all the way to the perimeter of the wheel like the stock ones. I like some kind of dish or lipped surface area, not to mention they're pretty pricey.

The heritage wheels remind me a little bit of rallye wheels. A beauty ring, and stamped steel. Wheels today have these very thin spokes that, in my opinion, are not for me and don't look as good.

A couple other reasons is that many wheels today are just so gaudy, they don't balance the look of the car. All you're seeing is these wheels that overwhelm the rest of the car.

The price is astronomical as well. I would NEVER pay $3000-$4000 for wheels, forged, hand machined, whatever. They're wheels. I'd much rather spend that on engine, suspension modifications.

The whole large wheel thing reminds me of excess bling jewelry people wear, or someone who's tattooed their face. All you're looking at is this caricature. You don't notice anything else.

Wheels on a car should be about balance, improving the looks, not overwhelming it.

My idea is to get a color that will make it look similar to this:

There are other 18s that fit. You might as Nine Ball. He knows these cars and what wheels fit really well.

I think you would need new rotors and brackets too. I don't think the calipers would be a direct swap.
