A truck would have been more practical. I gave into my Camaro desires..
So yes, I sometimes have regrets. |

You could try selling it instead of posting in here all the time about how miserable you are with it, doll. Go get a different car! We all know you hate what you have now. Just don't get why you are still here, and why you don't get rid of it.

I am stuck with what I have for now. That's not to say I drive a clunker or something. I'm simply wishing I had made a better choice FOR ME. Doesn't change the fact that the Camaro is a really nice car...I wish the Challenger/Camaro/Mustang battle would last forever, but Dodge isn't doing all that hot...despite the fact that they have the best retro look of the three IMO. Of course, they also want CRAZY money for them as well. |

Closest I got to regretting it was when I signed the $12,000 check for my down payment.

Sounds like a v6 owner justifying his purchase to an SS owner.

This. Im purchasing a 5th gen soon, Id Be so much more excited (not that im totally pumped about gettinga a new SS) if it was a new GTO... only reason im not buying another GTO is simply, it could never replace my old one, it can never be the same car, nor can it be better, even if i made it the fastes GTO to ever burn out across Gods green earth. It cant and wont replace my old one and it will just leave me reminded of my lost love. Im going to avoid that by buying a different beast!

But it's still just an SS... it's not a ZL1. Any car can be an SS...

Regrets? Only from a financial perspective, because I don't drive my SS enough. It doesn't make any sense to have a car that I've only driven 5960 miles over the last 20 months, but I love it to pieces. I've got another daily driver that's (shockingly) more practical--a Jeep Wrangler. But I love the car, and all my other money situations are in good order, so why not?
The other idea would be to sell my SS and buy something I've always sought after, like a pristine, low-mile IROC and keep it for sunny days. I'm not really sure where the value on those cars is going to go in coming years, don't really care, either. I could pick up a nice example for around $15k, which is about half as much as my SS is worth, and if it depreciates half as much in 10 years, I'd still be ahead. It would have to be a 350 though, as I wasn't a big fan of the 305's, and I wouldn't be winning many races, but that's not the point. I really like IROCs, and it's a cheap/fun car to keep as a 3rd...makes more financial sense than keeping a late model SS. |
